Snowmobile Safety Guide

The Ontario Snowmobile Safety Committee (O.S.S.C.) has produced a new 12-page brochure entitled The Family Guide to Safe and Responsible Snowmobiling. This resource contains important safety information for trail riders including tips on dealing with hazardous winter conditions, dressing right, winter survival, and night riding. It also contains the important message that snowmobiling and alcohol don't mix.

During the month of February, LCBO stores across the province are displaying copies of this brochure, together with an accompanying snowmobile safety poster.

For copies of the brochure, contact the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (tel. 705-739-7669; email info@ofsc.on.ca) or call the LCBO Infoline at 1-800-ONT-LCBO (or Elizabeth Kruzel, LCBO Social Responsibility Coordinator at 416-864-6820).

O.S.S.C.'s mandate is to influence and promote snowmobile safety in Ontario in an effort to reduce the number of snowmobile incidents, fatalities and injuries and their associated economic and societal costs. The committee is comprised of both private and public sector members, including: Arctic Cat Canada, Canadian Tourism Council, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health/ARF Division, Federation of Ontario Cottagers Association, The Lifesaving Society, LCBO, Ministry of Northern Development of Mines, Ministry of Transportation, Molson Breweries, Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs, OPP, Ontario Snowmobiler Magazine, Ontario Snowmobile Paradise, Ontario Snowmobile Racing Association, Skidoo Canada, SnowGoer Magazine, Snowmobiler Television, Race Line Snow Traxx Television, and Yamaha Motor Corporation of Canada.
