Alcohol & Mental Illness

This information pack delves into the complex issue of alcohol policy and mental illness, offering background information and a collection of regulatory frameworks on the subject.

A significant number of mentally ill persons in Toronto also faced issues related to alcohol dependence and abuse, and suffer from concurrent disorders (i.e., have both a mental illness and a substance use problem). This can lead to individuals becoming homeless. We strongly encourage those doing research to also check out the Information Pack on Homelessness.

This information pack has been expanded and updated to provide even more links to relevant statistics, research papers, and background information, as well as prevention programs targeted to these five problem areas.
