Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)

Fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) and fetal alcohol effects (FAE) are also referred to as fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). It encompasses any alcohol-related birth defects which are preventable. The identification and implementation of effective prevention strategies has focused on many areas ranging from educating pregnant women and alcoholic beverage warning labels to improving opportunities for those affected by FASD.
