Youth at Raves

Rave Policy - On May 3, 2000, Liberal MPP Sandra Pupatello introduced Bill 73, Raves Act 2000 in the Ontario legislature. The bill defines a rave as a dance event occurring between 2:00 am and 6:00 am, for which admission is charged and gives municipalities the authority to designate areas where these events will be allowed and under what conditions, or to ban them altogether. It also makes it an offence to promote, hold or allow a property to be used for raves without a municipal permit, and to fail to abide by the conditions of the permit.
