Aboriginal Populations

Aboriginal populations can be found around the world: Maori in Australia, Inuit in Nunavut and Alaska, as well as in every city and province in Canada. Native and First Nations. In response to requests for additional background information from colleagues, we have put together a comprehensive information pack on policy and service delivery issues affecting Canada's aboriginal peoples. On July 31, 2000, the Alcohol Policy Network and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health co-hosted a day-long seminar on Substance Misuse and Aboriginal and Ethno-Racial Youth.

This information pack has been expanded and updated to provide even more links to relevant statistics, research papers, and background information, as well as prevention programs targeted to these five problem areas.
