Liquor Licencing

Licencing the sale and distribution of alcohol falls under provincial jurisdiction. In Ontario, there are two major government agencies directly responsible for different aspects granting licences, enforcement of the Liquor Licence Act, sale, and distribution of alcohol.

Many organizations are involved in ensuring that alcohol is consumed in an appropriate manner, thereby ensuring that not only the rights of the community but also those who wish to sell and consume alcohol are being met.

There are links not only to existing legislation, but also examples of successful liquor licensing initiatives, where the public has successfully managed to reduce infractions of the Liquor Licence Act in their communities.
