The May 2011 edition of Issues to Watch is now available online. We highlight our upcoming webinar, High-Risk Drinking Among Adolescent and Young Adult Males: Prevention and Harm Reduction Opportunities. To dovetail with Mental Health Awareness Week, APN has refreshed and updated its Inforamtion Pack on Alcohol and Mental Illness. We also take this opportunity to reflect back on the past year and briefly highlight and celebrate our many achievements.

The April 2011 edition of Issues to Watch is now available online. We discuss the WHO's Global Status Report on Alcohol and Health which confirms that alcohol is the third leading risk factor for disability and disease. We check in on BC to see how well the stricter impaired driving sanctions from September 2010 are reflected in fewer alcohol-related crashes.

The February 2011 edition of Issues to Watch is now available online. We highlight the FDA's decision to stop the shipment and distribution of seven alcoholic energy drinks in the US. This has ramifications to potential federal action in Canada, as well as flanking maneuvers by US companies to the Canadian market. The 2009 Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health report is out and says little about alcohol policy, focusing instead on injury prevention. And finally, we remind colleagues to register for the 8th annual Alcohol: No Ordinary Commodity forum before the month-end deadline.
